Are We Truly Unique When It Comes To Fashion ?

Does there really exist such a thing as personal style anymore? We live in a day an age, where we a prone to copy looks we like - we admire other people's looks and think 'I want to look like that' , and then we rush out and desperately search the racks for anything that resembles .

Take for example any given online shop. Here we are bombarded with celebrity look-a-like styles - 'As seen on Kate Moss' 'In the style of Victoria Beckham' the headlines read. Whether we admit to it or not, we look to others for fashion inspiration - and not that there is anything wrong with that, but i raises a question: when was the last time you saw a person with a truly unique style? And is it even possible? We say that we buy certain things, because we don't want to look like everyone else, but does there exist a style which hasn't been defined ? Something where we can't put a label on it and say , oh that's bohemian or scene-style or rock n' roll?

Even when we try to liberate ourselves from today's modern looks and go looking in vintage stores, you can be sure that there are at least a couple of thousand people who have had the same idea. Next thing you know, celebrities are wearing vintage clothes, and all of a sudden we are all wearing the same clothes again .

I find that finding your own personal style can be quite tricky. We live in a time where we have never before had so many options in style. It's easy to look at a piece of clothing and define it as something from the 60's or something from the 80's, but in these time the trends of the last century or so, even the style of ancient Greece, are coming back, and we are left confused in a jumbled mess of options. So, that leaves the question: are we running out of ideas? Sure, there are designers constantly coming up with new ideas, but we always ask ourselves 'What's next?'. Well , what is next ?
